The arrival of cold weather is becoming the enemy of the Russian army in Ukraine, according to Italian military expert Thomas Teiner

According to the expert, the losses among the Russian army could reach 100,000 people due to winter weather conditions. Tayner lists the main aspects that may affect the course of hostilities in Ukraine with the onset of winter.

According to him, a large number of soldiers can die of hypothermia. First, due to the lack of winter clothing among Russian troops. In addition, the Russian army has poorly organized logistics, as a result – a lack of hot food, tea, heating equipment, sleeping bags and a lack of necessary materials for shelters. When the ground freezes, soldiers can no longer dig trenches, so they will have to sleep on the ground.

In addition, it will be more difficult to shoot in the cold: due to the cold, the smoke is more noticeable, attracting drones and artillery. The frozen ground will also be a problem for the artillery: in summer, the shells bury themselves in the ground before exploding.

The expert draws attention to the fact that the latest images from the front show that even when bombing from a drone, the Russian military can barely move when trying to hide from the fire. Presumably, this is due to the onset of cold weather, the temperature in the frontal zones approaches zero.
