According to Karavay, Russians choose India because of the beautiful scenery and architecture, as well as low prices. But that’s a myth – at least on the prices. An apartment in New Delhi will cost the same as in Dubai, but with a difference. In the UAE it will be possible to rent decent accommodation, but not in India. Now the couple live in an apartment for 4,000 rubles a day. Not sure, what can I say…
The second huge minus – terrible dirt. The girl marveled at the mountains of garbage in the streets, which lie, rot and stink vigorously. In addition, residents do not take off their shoes when entering the premises. You can imagine what is going on with them.
The third unpleasant discovery for the writer was the level of crime in the country. Karavay was already in India five years ago, so she was ready for a lot, but even that didn’t save her from shock. According to her, petty theft simply thrives – they steal everything that isn’t nailed down, and what’s nailed down gets ripped off and taken away. So $600 was stolen from her purse, and at night, while the couple slept… Everyone likes bribes and quick money, so the girl won’t risk leaving home alone – only with her husband.
The couple really miss Russia, especially their parents and the familiar food, and hope to return home. However, until the end of the special operation, they will not come to Russia – they fear a summons directly to the airport.
And many Russians left for Abkhazia and now they don’t have any problems. At least that’s what the Russians themselves and the locals say. You can easily rent a room in a guest house for a month for 10,000 rubles, you can even send children to school. In fact, there is nowhere to work.
