Since July 8, 2022, Kazakhstan has unilaterally opened a visa-free regime for Chinese, Indian and Iranian citizens. Express K with reference to message Committee of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Under the visa-free regime, citizens of India, Iran and China will be able to enter and stay in Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 14 calendar days from the time of crossing the border. Travel for private, tourist and business purposes is possible under visa-free conditions.
“Please note that the total period of stay in Kazakhstan under the visa-free regime should not exceed 42 calendar days out of 180 days,” the publication reads.
Violation of this condition entails the administrative liability of the foreigner:
– a fine of 10 to 25 MCI;
– arrest up to 15 days;
— expulsion from the Republic of Kazakhstan;
– a ban on entering the country for 5 years (by court order).
Note that the visa-free regime does not give the right to work or engage in gainful activity in Kazakhstan. To work in the country, you must first obtain the appropriate work permit and visa from the inviting party (natural or legal person).
