Vershinin called the campaign to expel Russia from the UN Human Rights Council a theater of the absurd
MOSCOW, April 16, FederalPress. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the Ukrainian Armed Forces casualties, and British instructors resumed training Ukrainian troops. At the same time, the United States recognized the impossibility of implementing the Russian energy embargo. “FederalPress” collected the main news for the start of the 52nd day of the special operation.
“As for our troops. According to the figures we have, we think we have lost between 2,500 and 3,000,” the Ukrainian leader said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that around 10,000 more soldiers were injured and in varying degrees of severity.
In the context of the ongoing Russian special operation in kyiv, Ukrainian troops were trained under the guidance of instructors from the Special Air Service (SAS) of Great Britain. Military experts are training the Ukrainian armed forces in the use of NLAW anti-tank missiles, which are supplied to the country by the United States and its allies, reports RIA Novosti.
American economists have recognized the impossibility of organizing an energy embargo against Russia. Experts note that even taking into account the introduction of large-scale sanctions against the Russian Federation, sales of energy resources did not decrease, but, on the contrary, increased. So, in April alone, Russia expects to receive about $9.6 billion from the sale of energy resources. Active buyers continue to be China, India and even the European Union, which wants to give up Russian energy resources but cannot.
The Russian Foreign Ministry discussed the US campaign to expel Russia from the UN Human Rights Council. Russian Federation Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said the current situation looks like a “theater of the absurd”. He accused the United States of failing to respect basic human rights and also noted that the United States out of 12 international human rights conventions had only ratified five.
Earlier, FederalPress reported that the DPR explained the reasons behind the difficulties in storming the Azovstal plant. According to the representative of the republic, there is an underground city under the power plant, capable of withstanding even a nuclear strike.
