The operational headquarters for the prevention of the importation and spread of COVID-19 in Russia has decided to lift restrictions on the entry of Kazakhs into the Russian Federation and the exit of Russians from Kazakhstan through the land section of the Russian-Kazakh border from March 30. Previously, entry into Russia through land checkpoints for Kazakhs was restricted. Only a few categories of citizens could cross the border.
Meanwhile, according to information from March 30 in Kazakhstan foreigners, without presenting additional reasons, can only enter by flights from all states with which our country has resumed regular passenger flights. Among them is Russia.
Arriving in Kazakhstan from foreign countries must provide a PCR certificate with a negative test result for COVID-19 in Kazakh or Russian or English. The certificate is valid subject to the selection of the material no earlier than 72 hours at the time of crossing the national border.
The PCR certificate is not required:
- children under 5 years old, if their companions are carriers;
- persons who received a revaccination or a full course of vaccination against COVID-19 in Kazakhstan, if no more than six months have passed since the receipt of the second component at the time of crossing the border from Kazakhstan, upon presentation of evidence documentaries;
- persons who have provided a passport/certificate/vaccination certificate against COVID-19, recognized as valid on the territory of Kazakhstan (Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, Belize, Bolivia, Great Britain, Hungary, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Moldova, Mongolia, Peru, San Marino, Serbia, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey , Philippines , Montenegro, Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Estonia, Japan).
Entering Kazakhstan through land checkpoints for citizens of Russia and other countries is allowed for several categories (the full list can be found HERE).
Thus, in the presence of supporting documents, foreigners can enter Kazakhstan for the funeral of relatives, to care for seriously ill family members who have a residence permit in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and members of their family (spouses, parents and children) who are relatives and relatives of citizens of Kazakhstan – subject to confirmation of the fact of family ties. The last two categories no more than once every 15 days.
