Putin to discuss international issues with Indian PM
Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet Indian Prime Minister Nerendra Modi as part of the SCO summit in Samarkand. This was announced by the assistant to the Russian leader Yuri Ushakov. He stressed that this meeting is important as India will participate in the UN Security Council in December.
“This year, Putin is with him [Моди] not yet met. Modi will also talk about international issues: the situation in the Asia-Pacific region, interaction within large multilateral formats. Which is important because India will participate in the UN Security Council in December,” Yuri Ushakov told reporters. His words are quoted by the correspondent of URA.RU.
The meeting between Putin and Modi will also discuss measures to expand the use of national currencies in settlements between India and Russia, Ushakov said. He noted that Moscow was increasing the supply of oil, coal and fertilizers to New Delhi. Trade turnover between India and Russia increased by 120%.
