April 13, Minsk /Alina Grishkevich – BELTA/. The Consulate General of Belarus will soon be opened in Mumbai, India. This was announced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha, speaking on April 13 at a festive event devoted to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of India and the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned.
The diplomat stressed the importance of expanding Belarus’ presence in India. He reported significant progress in the development of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic field. “The mutual development of business relations is constantly growing, covering all new areas of trade and investment, the establishment of joint ventures. Delegations from business circles of both countries participate in forums and exhibitions of business,” he said.
The ambassador also expressed the opinion that Indian students, who play the role of a kind of bridge of friendship between the two countries, continue to receive education in Belarusian universities. Medical higher education institutions are especially popular, the number of Indian students in which the number of Indian students is constantly growing.
The head of the diplomatic mission also indicated that contacts between the two peoples continue to develop thanks to tourism, cultural projects, education and training programs.-0-
